Fresh New Eyes By Sylvia Arkilanian
I take things the way they are and let go of trying to search for a subject in order to make a photograph come to life. This is how the spontaneity and wonder of creating comes about, and as I would like to think, instead of manipulating experiences, I am free to play with them naturally by being drawn to certain places, people, animals and environments. Interpreting life the way I feel through photography, inevitably forces me to see something in everything and everything in some things. My eyes being my tools to communicate on a universal level allows me to feel free and create an interactive openness of my heart to another’s. And the more this is explored, the less urge of showing-expressing myself comes alive and more of letting go surfaces at the forefront of my work.
